Whales
have a long and fascinating history. WonderWorks
“Whales” exhibit is a comprehensive look
at these gentle, intelligent creatures. The exhibit tells their fifty-four
million year old story, from their early life on land to their journey
back to the sea. This carefully chosen assembly of seven “life
size” robotic whales illustrates the major categories of whale
origins, adaptations and behavior: feeding, reproduction, swimming,
vocalization, respiration and diving.
The exhibit
includes the following robotic whales and their ancestors: Andrewsarchus,
Basilosaurus, Humpback Whale, Orca Whale, Northern Right Whale, Sperm
Whale and Baby Gray Whale.
